A Catalyst for Multiplying Impact in Iraqi Kurdistan

The Freedom Center is a community center designed to address the region’s multifaceted needs in a long-term, sustainable, and transformational way. In partnership with local leaders, volunteers, and staff, the Freedom Center has become a strategic place to catalyze hope and offer tangible opportunities to meet needs and touch hearts in the region.

The Freedom Center itself is not the vision.

Rather, it is a hub to accomplish the ultimate goal of transforming lives by merging business and benevolence to create sustainable solutions to the biggest challenges facing vulnerable communities across the Iraqi Kurdistan Region.

It is not only Global Hope’s operational headquarters in Iraq, but also the very visible platform that demonstrates trust and credibility and communicates to the underserved that they are not forgotten.

Through the Freedom Center, Global Hope serves people from all walks of life, regardless of ethnicity, religion, or social class. We have established infrastructure and systems with capacity to serve thousands of people weekly for impact today and ultimately to expand our reach across the region for generations to come. Housed in the Freedom Center are various business and educational spaces where we facilitate our benevolent and for-profit activities.

IS THE FREEDOM CENTER FULLY OPERATIONAL?

Not yet. To date, the center has been utilized for many one-off events, trainings, and classes. Locals are eager for the doors to remain open, as there is no comparable community center in the region. Global Hope is seeking to raise the monthly capital required to start daily operations and ultimately fulfill the Freedom Center’s potential within the community.

We need your help to get us past the finish line.

A place of hope for women and their families, the Freedom Center offers:

  • Sanctuary regardless of social or economic status.

  • Safety to gather, learn and flourish beyond conflict.  

  • Opportunity to improve their livelihoods and strengthen their resilience.

  • Education and training to become the leaders of tomorrow.

The heart of the center is the soon-to-open Freedom Cafe.

THE CAFE WILL:

  • Offer a legitimate platform for global workers to engage locals and build relationships.

  • Create local jobs offering a viable alternative to illegal migration and human smuggling.

  • Enhance organizational trust with regional stakeholders essential to mission impact.

  • Generate revenue supporting project and program sustainability and expansion.

  • Model values of excellence, compassion, service, and hospitality that disciple the community.
